It is with both pride and humility that we share the inspiring journey of Kassie Nuñez, a 7-year-old girl from Camarines Sur, Bicol, who has just made the Philippines proud by winning the Under-8 division at the prestigious 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡+ 𝗔𝗴𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 held in 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴, 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗮 (July 1–11, 2025).🏆♟️

Behind that big achievement is a small girl with even bigger dreams, a young mind with a heart full of passion for chess. At an age where most children are still discovering the world, Kassie already chose a path of discipline and focus. She chose chess. And with that choice came sacrifices: time, play, comfort. But she never gave up. Because a kid who is willing to learn, listen, and sacrifice always deserves to shine.

Kassie is an active student of Chess Learning Academy, and from the moment she joined our sessions, we saw something truly special. She wasn't just playing chess; she was living it. She embraced every lesson, asked every question, and gave her all in every single move. Her spirit reflected what we stand for at CLA: thinking ahead, building character.

This victory is not just about medals or trophies. It’s about growth, grit, and grace under pressure. It’s about a little girl proving to the world that age is never a limit when guided by passion and purpose.

To Ma’am Janet B. Sanorjo and Sir Diosdado Nuñez, her incredibly supportive parents, thank you for believing in your daughter's dreams and walking every step of the way with her. And to Coach Kimuel Aaron, your dedication and patience as a mentor made a lasting impact.
