Congrats, Bruce! Our Under-8 player won Standard and Blitz titles plus Rapid silver at the 2026 National Age Group Chess Championship. See his journey.
Congrats, Bruce! 🏆♟️ 🥇 Standard Champion 🥇 Blitz Champion 🥈 Rapid 2nd Place Under 8 Category
Congrats to a Triple-Medal Champion
Winning in standard, blitz, and rapid chess is no small feat. Each format rewards a different strength. Standard chess tests deep planning and patience. Blitz rewards quick, accurate decisions under a ticking clock. Rapid sits in between, asking for both speed and sound judgement. To medal in all three shows a well-rounded player, not a one-trick specialist.
For a young competitor in the Under 8 category, this kind of breadth is especially encouraging. It means the foundation is solid, and the skills transfer across time controls.
For parents watching from the sidelines, chess tournament results like these answer a common question: is my child ready to compete? The truth is, competition is less about age and more about preparation. A child who enjoys the game, listens in Chess Learning Academy classes, and practises regularly is ready to try a tournament — even a national one.
From Beginner Level 1 to becoming a National-Level Competitive Player, your hard work, dedication, and love for chess have led to an incredible achievement at the 2026 National Age Group Chess Championship.
We are truly proud and humbled to be part of your chess journey. From learning the basics of how the pieces move to competing and winning at the national level, your progress has been inspiring to witness.
Every one of those steps matters. The first lesson, the first puzzle solved, the first tournament nerves — they all add up. Bruce's story is a reminder that steady practice, paired with patient coaching and a supportive family, can take a child much further than anyone expects at the start. Good chess training for children is exactly this: consistent, encouraging, and built around the child.
A special thank you to Bruce's parents for their unwavering support and commitment. Achievements like these are made possible not only by the player's effort but also by the strong support system behind them. Kudos also to the coaches.
Keep enjoying the game, keep learning, and keep dreaming big. The best is yet to come! 💙♟️
