We're excited to announce the 23rd Online Chess Tournament hosted by Chess Learning Academy on Lichess! This exclusive event is open only to our 𝗖𝗟𝗔 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills and compete with your peers.

Every tournament is a checkpoint for a young player — a chance to measure progress, meet peers, and learn something a lesson alone cannot teach. The 23rd edition gives CLA students another opportunity to put their training to the test.

Why Join a Tournament Even Before You Feel Ready

Some parents hesitate to let a child join a tournament, worried they are not ready. The truth is, tournaments are where readiness is built. A child who competes regularly learns to handle the clock, the pressure, and the losses — and comes back stronger each time.

You do not need to be the strongest player to benefit. The Swiss format pairs everyone with similar scores, so each round is a fair challenge. Every game is a free lesson in disguise.

🎯𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘿𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙨: Format: Swiss System (9 rounds) Time Control: 10 minutes per game (no increment)

Playing Well With a 10-Minute Clock

A ten-minute game with no increment rewards quick, sound decisions. Players learn to spend time where it matters, avoid dwelling on a single move, and keep enough on the clock to finish the game.

That discipline transfers directly to slower, more serious games. A child who learns to manage ten minutes well will feel calm and unhurried when a longer time control gives them plenty of room to think.

🌟𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙅𝙤𝙞𝙣?

  • Test and improve your chess strategies
  • Compete in a well-structured, fair tournament
  • Connect with a vibrant community of chess players

A Community That Competes Together

One of the best parts of a CLA tournament is the shared energy. Students who see each other in class get to compete as rivals and cheer as friends. Parents watch from home, and chess coaches at Chess Learning Academy follow every game, ready to help review what happened.

That sense of belonging makes kids want to come back for the next event. Competition here is friendly and encouraging — the goal is growth through youth chess development, not just trophies.

📌Mark your calendars and don't miss out on this exciting event!
