Still Hiring: What Makes a Great Chess Coach for Kids
Teaching chess to children is not the same as being a strong player. A great coach is patient, explains ideas in simple steps, and knows how to keep a young learner engaged through a screen. A background in teaching — like a Licensed Professional Teacher — helps, because it means the coach understands how kids learn at each stage of youth chess development.
The work-from-home setup matters too. A clear camera, reliable internet, and a quiet space mean lessons stay focused and interruption-free, which is what young students need to concentrate.

We’re seeking mentors who can inspire kids (ages 5 and up) to develop strategy, focus, and sportsmanship through chess.
